Honor is preparing to launch a new flagship phone in China. The brand which was sold by Huawei recently, will be holding a fan meeting in Shenzen next year. The company is expected to announce the Honor V40 a day before the meet, as per its annual tradition.
An image leaked on Weibo indicates that Honor’s fan event has been scheduled for January 13th. So, the Honor V40 launch date will be a day earlier, i.e. on January 12th.
Another teaser image features a screenshot of the popular game Temple Run 2. The picture has the words 120fps beta test Honor V40, which indicates that the device has a 120Hz refresh rate. The screen in question is a 6.72-inches AMOLED panel and has a curved screen. The display has a resolution of 2800 x 1240 pixels meaning it is a Full HD+ screen.
In case you missed it, we saw a similar curved screen on the Huawei Nova 8 Pro 5G, that was leaked yesterday. Playfuldroid reports that since Honor and Huawei share the same suppliers, it is possible the Honor V40 may have the same display, so we could be looking at a 6.72-inches screen with dual selfie cameras placed in a pill cutout.
