Recently, one of our readers asked us how to reset the binary counter on a Samsung Galaxy S Advance.
So here we are with a very easy method which will help you to rest the counter.
The binary counter is a really strange way used by Samsung to see the number of times you flashed a custom ROM on your device .
How to check the status of your flash counter:
- Turn off the phone.
- Boot the phone into download mode by using the key combo VolDown+(Home)+Power. (Press and hold the keys)
- Press the volume up key to go to the Download mode where the counter is displayed.

This method should work on Gingerbread and Jellybean firmware.
Caution: Your phone must be rooted for this to work
Download the Triangle Away app, from the XDA thread here and install it on your phone.
Open the app and it will ask you for root access, allow it.
It will detect your phone model and also the counter status.
If you want to reset the counter, tap on the “Reset Flash Counter” button.
Note: It may ask you to reboot. Do so.
If you really like the app and want to support the developer get the paid version of [root] Triangle Away from Google Play
