As speculated, HTC has announced a mid range smartphone U Play, in addition to U Ultra. Both these smartphones come with HTC Sense Companion which uses Artificial Intelligence to customize or tune your smartphone based on how you use it over a time using the native UI and apps. Company is yet to announce the pricing and global availability details.
HTC U Play sports 5.2-inch full-HD 1080p Super LCD display with Gorilla Glass protection, powered by an octa-core MediaTek Helio P10 processor with two variants of 3 GB RAM/ 32GB storage and 4GB RAM/ 64GB storage. It comes with support for expandable storage via microsd card up to 2 TB. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system with HTC SenseUI on top.
In terms of camera, it comes with 16 MP main rear camera with BSI sensor, optical image stabilisation, PDAF, an f/2.0 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash. Whereas the front camera is another 16 MP sensor with a UltraPixel mode, a BSI sensor, an f/2.0 aperture.
It measures 145.99 x 72.9 x 7.99 mm and weighs 145 grams. Fingerprint sensor is embedded with the Home Button. It is backed by 2500 mAh battery with fast charging support and can offer up to 15.21 hours of talk-time and up to 427.54 hours of standby time.
