HTC announced U Ultra and U Play smartphones just last month. Both these phones come with HTC Sense Companion which as per company claim uses Artificial Intelligence to customize or tune your smartphone based on how you use it over a period of time using the native UI and apps.
HTC U Ultra
HTC U Ultra comes with a 2-inch secondary display with 1040 x 160 pixels resolution with sapphire glass protection similar to LG V20, in addition to primary 5.7-inch Super LCD QHD display with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone is powered by 2.15 GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB internal storage along with support for expandable storage via microsd card. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat based operating system with HTC SenseUI on top along with Sense Companion.
In terms of camera, it features a 12-UltraPixel main rear camera with 1.55-micron pixels, a BSI sensor, laser + PDAF (phase detection autofocus), OIS, an f/2.8 aperture, and dual-tone LED flash, whereas on the front, it comes with a 16 MP front shooter with UltraPixel mode, and BSI sensor.
It measures 162.41 x 79.79 x 7.9 mm and weighs 170 grams. It is backed by a 3,000 mAh non-removable battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support that offers up to 26 hours of talk-time and 13 days of standby time. It will be available in three colors i.e. Brilliant Black, Cosmetic Pink and Sapphire Blue.
HTC U Play
U Play is a mid range smartphone which sports a 5.2 inch Full HD super LCD display with Gorilla Glass protection and is powered by octa-core Mediatek Helio P10 processor along with 4 GB of RAM. It comes with 64 GB of internal storage along with support for expandable memory up to 2 TB via microsd card. It runs on Android 7.0 Nougat based operating system with HTC sense UI on top along with HTC Companion.
In terms of camera, it comes with a 16 MP main rear camera with PDAF, OIS, f/2.0 aperture along with Dual tone LED flash. On the front, it sports another 16 MP shooter with Ultrapixel mode & f/2.0 aperture. It is backed by 2500 mAh battery along with support for fast charging (5v/2A). It includes support for NFC. In terms of dimensions, it measures 145.99 x 72.9 x 3.5-7.99 mm and weighs 145 gms.
Price and Availability
The HTC U Ultra is priced at Rs. 59,99, whereas HTC U Play is priced at Rs. 39,990. Both devices come with one-year insurance that covers liquid damage and any physical damage. U Ultra and U Play will be available in Indian market from 6th March ‘17 and mid-March ’17 respectively.
