Huawei Honor is going to launch a new entry-level smartphone Honor 5A in China on June 12. The announcement is made through their official Weibo handle with an image showing two young people playing games. Even though we have no clue on hardware specifications of Honor 5A, we assume the “A” suffix points to a low-end device compared to Honor 5X or Honor 5C.
Considering that Chinese certification portal TENAA has recently listed few Honor smartphones with low-end specifications having almost same specifications, we can expect Honor 5A to be one of these smartphones listed on TENAA. The Honor models that are listed during last 1-2 weeks are :
- CAM-AL00
- CAM-CL00
- CAM-TL00
- CAM-TL00H
- CAM-UL00
These five variants of Honor devices vary only in network capabilities or SIM support and a bit of variation in CPU speed otherwise they are the same smartphones.
Based on these, we expect Huawei Honor 5A sports a 5.5 inch HD display with 720 resolution powered by an octa-core 1.2 GHz / 1.5 GHz processor with 2 GB of RAM. It sports a 16 GB internal storage along with support for expandable memory via microsd card. In terms of camera, it comes with 13 MP main rear camera and a 8 MP front-shooter. It is backed by 3000 mAh battery and runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system. It measures 154.3 × 77.1 × 8.45 (mm) and weighs 168 grams.
