As expected, Huawei has made the Huawei Maimang 5 official by launching it an event in China yesterday. Looking at the specifications of the smartphone, it can be termed as a mid range smartphone. Maimang 5 sports a 5.5 inch Full HD 1080p display and is powered by 2.0 GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with Adreno 506 GPU.
There are two variants of the device i.e. 1st with 3 GB of RAM & 32 GB internal storage and 2nd being the 4 GB RAM with 64 GB storage. Both variants support expandable storage via microsd card up to 128 GB. Out of these two variants, the 3 GB RAM variant was spotted on TENAA few days ago. It runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based operating system with EMUI 4.1 on top.
In terms of camera, it comes with 16 MP main rear camera with dual-tone LED Flash, PDAF, OIS, Sony IMX298, f/2.0 aperture, 6P lens with support for 4K video recording and a 8 MP front shooter.
It measures 151.8 × 75.7 × 7.3 mm and weighs 160 grams. In terms of connectivity, it supports 4G LTE with VoLTE in addition to WiFi, 3G/2G, Bluetooth etc. and comes with a Hybrid SIM slot. It is backed by a battery of 3340 mAh battery. Fingerprint sensor is located at the back below the rear camera.
Maimang 5 will be available in Champagne Gold, Rose Gold and Moonlight silver colors options. In china, it is priced at 2399 yuan (~ Rs. 24,000) for the 3 GB + 32 GB variant and 2599 Yuan (~rs. 26,000) for the 4 GB + 64 GB variant. IT will go on sale on 21st July in China.
