A Huawei Mate 30 Pro leaked render has surfaced on Weibo. And it reveals a new quad camera design.
The lenses are arranged in an X formation, which is housed inside a circle? Should we call it X-ring cameras?
Analyzing the Huawei Mate 30 Pro leaked render
At first glance it may look like penta-cameras like the one on the Nokia 9 Pureview. But the Mate 30 Pro has 4 cameras and an LED flash placed in a symmetrical manner.
The branding seen in the Huawei Mate 30 Pro leaked render reads Leica Vario Summilux H 1:1.6-3.4/16-125 ASPH. That is exactly what the Huawei P30 Pro has.
Traditionally, Huawei has used the same cameras on the Mate and P series. Here’s a recap of the P30 Pro’s photography hardware.
The Huawei P30 Pro is equipped with a Leica Quad Camera with a 40MP primary sensor that has a wide angle lens, an f/1.6 aperture, Optical Image Stabilization, a 20MP Ultra Wide Angle lens with an f/2.2 aperture, an 8MP Telephoto lens with an f/3.4 aperture which also supports OIS and a Time of Flight lens. Apart from this, it supports laser focus, phase focus, contrast focus, and AIS.
Based on the branding seen in the leaked picture, and the company’s history, the Huawei Mate 30 Pro should have the same camera specs.
A case for the upcoming phone was also posted on Weibo, which shows a large circular cut-out in a silicon case. This lends some credibility to the Huawei Mate 30 Pro leaked render.
