At the end of October, Huawei stunned it’s users by announcing that it will not update the Ascend Mate2 to Android KitKat.
Naturally, it drew a lot of flak from it’s users for denying an update for a recently launched phone.
But it appears that the company is backtracking on it’s decision, and here’s what they said in their blog post:
We received a lot of feedback since our post regarding our plans for the Ascend Mate2 and future upgrades. We want to thank our customers for their comments. At Huawei we pride ourselves on our people-focused approach to product design, so we take your feedback seriously. We’ve shared your comments with our product and development teams and are evaluating all our options. We will be updating everyone by the end of next week.
It is good they are considering user feedback, and we hope that they will indeed provide the Android KitKat update for the Ascend Mate2. We will keep you updated on more about this.
