Reliance Jio has renamed its popular Voice/Video Calling and SMS app, Jio Join, to Jio4GVoice. We have been beta testing the app, and here are some screenshots of the same.
There is a new UI, with elements of Material Design in it, including the + button and the three dot menu, but the Golden yellow colours are way off, and we hope that Reliance does consider making the UI a proper Material Design.
The first screen shows the app prompting to be whitelisted in the battery settings, which we ignored fearing battery drain. The second screenshot is of the new dialer, and the third one is the calls screen.
The fourth screenshot is of the SMS tab, the fifth is of the Contacts tab, while the last one shows the settings screen. The app now allows you to share maps and doodles while you are on a call, and also allows group chats to have as many as 100 users.
The change log mentions that support for Android N will be added soon. Interestingly, we have been using the app on a Nexus 6 with Android 7.0 Nougat without any issues for over 2 weeks.
Jio4GVoice will also get a new Indian Language Keyboard soon.
ICYMI, Jio also renamed a couple of its other apps. JioBeats is now JioMusic, and JioOnDemand is now JioCinema.
