LG is in a rush to become the first OEM to roll out the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update to its device.
And the company’s 2015 flagship phone, the LG G4, will get the update next week.
The roll out will only begin in Poland initially, but will soon be followed by releases in Europe, Asia and the Americas to follow. This is quite remarkable actually, since Android 6.0 was launched only two weeks ago.
LG’s vice president, Chris Yie offered an explanation for this:
[su_pullquote align=”right”]By working closely with Google, LG has been able to bring Android 6.0 to the G4 ahead of any of our competitors.[/su_pullquote]
LG could have had the upper hand due to the fact that one of its devices, the LG Nexus 5X, is among the two flagship phones launched by Google, and these phones were the first to come with Android Marshmallow out of the box.
