Just two weeks back, we have reported that upcoming flagship device from LG i.e. LG G6 may be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor and not the latest Snapdragon 835 processor, due to availability issues of Snapdragon 835 thanks to Samsung upcoming Galaxy S8 powered by Snapdragon 835, along with expected huge sales numbers. This leaves LG not much option if they want to release a new flagship device or wait for Availability issues to get sorted out.
A new leak today confirms this earlier rumor. The leak comes in the form of an image allegedly snapped at CES which shows a confidential slide from LG about the upcoming flagship device G6. The slide lists out some of the basic LG G6 hardware specifications such as 5.7 inch Full Vision Display ( Official name for the 18:9 Quad HD display) along with features such as Water & dust resistance, Rear fingerprint sensor and Quad DAC.
The most interesting part though is the CPU that is listed i.e. Qualcomm MSM8996AC which is Snapdragon 821 which is the SOC chip that powered the current OnePlus 3T. If the leaked slide is credible, it confirms that LG has chosen last year’s Snapdragon 821 processor for its next flagship smartphone and not the Snapdragon 835. LG must have considered its options before choosing Snapdragon 821 for its flagship device in 2017 instead of waiting a few months and use Snapdragon 835.
LG G6 is expected to be made official on February 26 at Mobile World Congress MWC 2017 and we have already seen alleged live image of LG G6 and even a full set of Render images exposing LG G6 in full glory & revealing design of the device. The latest leak came in the form of LG G6 Case renders leak revealing the design in detail.
As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
