The LG G Watch was released barely two months ago, but it appears that the South Korean electronics giant, is set to reveal another smartwatch next month.
According to The Korean Times, who spoke to an LG Official, the LG G Watch2 could be unveiled during the IFA trade show in Berlin.
And it is not just a cheaper version of it’s predecessor, the G Watch 2 will be a “serious game changer”, says the insider. The company is working with its affiliates LG Chem, LG Inotek and LG Display, to manufacture the wearable device. LG Chem will be supplying the batteries, while LG Display will provide the OLED Displays. The G Watch 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm processor, as LG struggles to iron out issues with their proprietary Odin processors.
The watch will support Google’s voice commands which means it will run on Android Wear OS.
LG has been approached by top watchmakers, and is currently in talks with them, to use their brand image in promoting the smartwatch. So, it is likely that it will be a premium watch.
However, the G Watch 2 might not make it’s official public debut at the IFA, and instead may just be showcased for their clientele.
