LG has launched its dual-screen dual-camera phone, the LG V10 in Korea.
The phone features a second screen built as an inset display above the main display.
This second screen can be “always on” to display the weather, time, date and battery icon, while the primary display is off. But when the main display is on, the second screen can be converted into a mini launcher with shortcuts or your favorite apps. The second screen also acts as a notification bar, which displays notifications without interrupting the app/game you have open in the main main screen.
The LG V10’s main display is a 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440 pixels) IPS Quantum screen which has a pixel density of 513ppi. The secondary display, is a 2.1-inch IPS Quantum Display, also with a pixel density of 513ppi and supports a resolution of 160 x 1040 pixels.
The LG V10 is powered by a hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor with 4GB LP DDR3 RAM. It comes with 64GB of internal storage, and supports up to a whopping 2TB of expandable storage. The phone runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop
The phone has a 16 megapixel rear camera with an f/1.8 aperture, and OIS 2.0 (Optical Image Stabilization) and laser focusV. There are dual front cameras on the phone, both of which are 5 megapixel, one supporting 80 degree Standard Angle and the other supporting 120 degree Wide Angle. The LG V10 also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the rear of the phone.
The device also happens to be the first phone to support Qualcomm TruSignal, an antenna boost technology which reduces dropped calls, provides faster data and better call coverage.
The phone is backed by a 3,000mAh battery, which is user removable and supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 and delivers a 50 percent charge in just 40 minutes. The V10 weighs in at 192g and measures at 159.6 x 79.3 x 8.6 mm. Connectivity options on the phone include support for 4G LTE-A Cat. 6, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.1, NFC and USB 2.0.
The LG V10 will come in 5 colours: Space Black, Luxe White, Modern Beige, Ocean Blue and Opal Blue. The phone has a stainless steel frame, and a Dura Guard frame around the edges and corners. The back and the bottom of the display has a Dura Skin layer, which is scratch resistant and offers a better grip.
The LG V10 will be available initially in Korea from this month, and will soon be available in the US, China and some countries in Asia, Latin America and the Middle East.
