LG is expected to unveiled their next device in V series as LG V40 ThinQ, its second flagship phone of the year in early October as domestic launch of the new V-Series model in South Korea ahead of the next iPhone and start early sales with local telcos SK Telecom, KT, and LG Uplus from october 5. The timing suits LG as it avoids the already launched Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and the upcoming iPhone from Apple.
Most Android mobile brands are critised for copying the Apple iPhone X design with notch, Moto P30 being the latest copycat and it seems that LG may be trying something new in terms of the notch design. We have already seen iPhone X kind of notches in many devices, a waterdrop notch in upcoming Oppo F9 Pro & F9 and a small tiny notch with Essential Phone. Alleged Renders of LG V40 ThinQ have surfaced on the Chinese social network Weibo which indicates that the upcoming device will feature a small notch on left side instead of a wide notch in the middle. The screen to body ratio of the device is expected to be close to 90% which is better than LG V30 screen to body ratio of 81%.
There are two variants visible in Renders with first variant showing a dual camera module at rear with fingerprint sensor while the second variant shows triple rear cameras above the fingerprint sensor. At the moment, we are not sure if LG is indeed planning to announce a triple camera smartphone just as Huawei P20 Pro.
Rumors suggest that LG may announce the device at IFA which is few weeks away and starts sales in October. At the moment, LG is yet to announce any official details or launch details of the device. We also have no clue about the hardware specifications of the device.
As with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
