The list of Motorola devices which will get Android Pie via a software update, has been officially announced by the company. Truth to be told, there aren’t a whole deal of surprises here.
Before we tell you which devices are getting Android P, we must mention that the Moto P30 which was launched yesterday in China is not among the list.
Here is the list of Motorola devices which will get Android Pie
- Moto Z3
- Moto Z3 Play
- Moto Z2 Force Edition
- Moto Z2 Play
- Moto X4
- Moto G6 Plus
- Moto G6
- Moto G6 Play
As expected, the list of Motorola devices which will get Android Pie does not include the Moto E series. The company announced earlier this year, that the budget friendly phones will not be updated to a new version of Android.
So, if the latest phones are not getting Android Pie, will the Moto G5 series get the Android Pie update? That doesn’t seem likely at all. The fact that the company is abandoning update support for its phones, after a year since the devices were launched, is something which is seen as the downfall of Moto by many users, but we will leave you to be the judge.
When will the Motorola devices get the Android P Update?
The Lenovo owned company says that it aims to bring the latest version of Android to the devices, starting from Fall 2018. This will of course differ based on the many variants which are available with each Carrier and in various Countries.
Moto is the latest company to announce its plans to update its phones to Android P, following HTC, Sony, Nokia, Oppo, Vivo and OnePlus. Apart from HTC, the other OEMs actually took part in the Android P beta program. The Android Pie Update is already available for the Essential Phone, and the Google Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL.
