Meizu has just announced its latest flagship device MX5 in an event in China today. Meizu MX5 sports a full metal body with magnesium alloy frame and comes with a 5.5-inch super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels along with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 Protection. The device is powered by 2.2 GHz MediaTek Helio X10 (MT6795T) Octa-Core 64-bit processor with PowerVR G6200 GPU supported by 3GB RAM.
MX5 comes in 16/32/64 GB internal memory variants with no support for expandable memory via MicroSd cards. It runs on Flyme OS 4.5 which is based on Android 5.0 Lollipop. The device comes with dual SIM support (4G + 4G) with nano SIM cards.
In terms of camera, it comes with a 20.7 MP rear camera with dual tone LED Flash with laser auto focus, Sony IMX220 Exmor RS BSI sensor, 6P lenses f/2.0 aperture, 4K video recording support and a 5 MP front-facing camera with f/2.0 aperture.
It weighs just 149 gms and is powered by a 3150 mAh battery.
MX5 comes with fingerprint identification system mTouch 2.0 by which Meizu claims that new fingerprint sensor makes identification faster and smoother.
At this moment, MX5 is launched only in china and will be available from July 5th for 1799 CYN (~Rs.18,500 / US$290) for the 16 GB variant.There is no information about its global roll-out yet.
