Meizu has launched its flagship phone, the Meizu MX5 in India.
The device sports a 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p Super AMOLED display, with a pixel density of 401 ppi, and is protected by Corning® Gorilla® Glass 3.
The Meizu MX5 runs on Flyme 4.5, which is based on Android 5.0.1 Lollipop. It is powered by a 64-bit octa-core Mediatek Helio X10 processor clocked at 2.2GHz, with 3GB of RAM, and a PowerVR G6200 GPU.
The phone comes in three storage variants: 16GB/32GB/64GB, with no support for expandable memory. The Meizu MX5 features a 20.7 megapixels rear camera which is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3 lens protective glass, an ƒ/2.2 aperture, a 6-element lens, laser focus, dual-colour flashlight. The selfie lens is a 5 megapixels front camera, with an ƒ/2.0 aperture, and supports FotoNation 2.0 smart selfie enhancement and Face AE face light boost.
The MX5 supports a plethora of sensors: Hall Effect sensor, Gravity sensor, IR proximity sensor, Gyroscope, Ambient light sensor, Touch sensor, and a Digital compass. The phone also comes with a Fingerprint sensor, which uses the mTouch 2.0 technology. The fingerprint scanner is placed on the front of the phone, in the form of a capacitive button which is surrounded by a metal ring, made of Stainless steel. It is touted to have a response speed of 0.48s, and can store up to 5 fingerprints.
The device packs a 3,150 mAh battery, which supports mCharge fast charging technology which can charge the phone from 0 to 50% in just 30 minutes. The phone has an all metal body, and measures at 149.9 x 74.7 x 7.6 mm and weighs at 149g.
The Meizu MX5 supports dual-SIM with dual-standby, with support for dual 4G(FDD-LTE • TD-LTE) in the primary sim cards, while the second sim card supports 2G. Other connectivity options include Bluetooth 4.1, Wi-Fi, GPS, A-GPS and GLONASS.
The Meizu MX5 will be sold exclusively on Snapdeal. The registrations for the first flash sale has begun.
