Microsoft have release a new update for Office Mobile, and have made the app free for Android users.
It can be used for home use only, and still requires you to sign in using a Microsoft account. You will need a premium account, i.e an Office 365 subscription if you want to use it for commercial purposes.
Let’s take a look at the features of the app:
Perhaps the most useful feature of the app is that, it lets you view and edit email attachments, as long as they are in the supported Office format. You can view Word, Excel and Powerpoint files using Office Mobile. You can also use it to create new Word and Excel documents on your phone, as well as edit and save them. The app also has OneDrive and SharePoint integration for cloud storage and access. It also syncs with the computer version of Office, so you can view the recent documents you accessed on the PC, in the recent documents panel on your Android phone.
If you have an Android phone running Android OS 4.0 or later, you can download Office Mobile for free from Google Play.
