Xiaomi has released the MIUI 11.0.3 Update for Redmi Note 8 in India. This is not the Android 10 Update that you’re waiting for.
It’s just a bug fix patch that has been released for the stable channel.
What’s new in the MIUI 11.0.3 Update for Redmi Note 8
The new firmware includes a fix for a bug in scrolling screenshots that was causing images to be overlapped.
A bug related to the Notification shade not opening has also been resolved. It also works with Second Space.
The MIUI 11.0.3 Update for Redmi Note 8 brings the January Android Security Patch to the mid-ranger. That’s not exactly great considering that we are already in March. It’s just Xiaomi things I suppose.
If you haven’t received the OTA update notification already, you may try heading to the Settings > About Phone > System Update, to manually check for the latest version.
The full ROM download size is about 1.9GB, and is already available on Xiaomi’s website. If you’re looking for the Fastboot version, that’s available from the following link.

Some users are reporting they already have the MIUI 11.0.6 Update, but we haven’t seen any screenshots of it yet.
And in case you missed it, the device’s successor, the Redmi Note 9 and Redmi Note 9 Pro are scheduled to be launched on March 12th in India.
