Xiaomi has released a new OTA for its latest Redmi Note series. The firmware that is being rolled out is the MIUI 12.0.8.0 update for Redmi Note 10 Pro.
This happens to be the second update for the device, since the MIUI 12.0.6.0 update, which improved the camera performance on the device.
The MIUI 12.0.8.0 Update for Redmi Note 10 Pro brings the March Security Patch from Google.
The phone was previously on the February Security Patch. Xiaomi isn’t exactly popular when it comes to updates, so it is not surprising that the previous month’s security patch has landed in mid-April. In addition to the system level patch, the firmware also adds some new animations for the automatic Night mode in the stock Camera app.
If you are on version 12.0.6.0 RFKINXM, you can get the newest update. The download size of the MIUI 12.0.8.0 Update for Redmi Note 10 Pro is about 274MB, it is currently available in India. If you haven’t received a notification for it, you can head to the Settings > About Phone screen, and tap on the MIUI version section to check for the update manually.
We tested the update on our phone, and everything seems to work as intended. Xiaomi has begun testing the MIUI 12.5 Update for its phones in India, it could take a couple of months before it releases the stable version to users.
