Xiaomi has released the MIUI 12.5 Update for Redmi Note 10 Pro to users. The stable version of the update is currently being seeded to users in India.
What’s new in the MIUI 12.5 Update for Redmi Note 10 Pro
The phone was already on Android 11 prior to this update, so nothing has been changed there.
The firmware version number of the update is MIUI V12.5.1.0.RKFINXM. Oddly, the device is still on the April Security Patch which it received in the MIUI 12.0.10.0 update.
In terms of the System performance, Xiaomi says that MIUI 12.5 is faster, lighter and durable. We are not sure what that last part means. The phone responds to gestures instantly. Animations are rendered 20 times faster.
The release notes indicate that the Notes app has been improved in the MIUI 12.5 Update for Redmi Note 10 Pro. It now allows you to create mind maps, has new doodling and sketching tools. Notes can be accessed using a gesture from any screen, using whihch you can create notes, tasks, excerpts, so you can save text content, URLs, images.
Another app that has been updated in the MIUI 12.5 Update for Redmi Note 10 Pro os the Camera app, and it gets new video recording and time-lapse photography modes. There are a bunch of new filters as well: BBP, Mystery, Lime, Tango, Fantasy, Slumber, Carmen and Summer.
The change log from Xiaomi says that the cloud setting will now send the location info to its server automatically before the phone is powered off. The OTA of the MIUI 12.5 Update for Redmi Note 10 Pro weighs about 732MB to download from the previous patch.
