Xiaomi has announced some pretty great news today.
The Chinese OEM is rolling out the MIUI 7 based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow ROM for some of its devices, but only to its beta testers
The devices which are receiving the update are:
- Mi 3 W/C
- Mi 4 3G/4G
- Mi Note
Look out for MIUI 7 version 6.1.7 to be made available later today.
This makes Xiaomi the only device manufacturer, to skip Lollipop, and instead jump straight from KitKat to Marshmallow.
It is not clear when the Global Developer ROM would be released. But first Xiaomi will release the Chinese version to all users first, following which the Global release should happen.
