Xiaomi has officially released the MIUI 8 Global Beta ROM released for some its devices. But be prepared for some disappointing news. The Chinese company, has not released the firmware for most of its new devices.
The waiting list includes the Xiaomi Mi 5, the Redmi Note 3 as well.
Here are the devices for which the official MIUI Global Beta 6.7.5 is currently available:
- Redmi Note 3G
- Redmi Note 4G
- Redmi Note Prime
- Redmi 2
- Mi Max 32GB
Head to our MIUI 8 article, to know what’s new in the latest update. Or head to the MIUI forums, to download and flash the update. Be advised that since it is a beta, there are bound to be bugs, so do not flash it on your primary device, and always take a backup of your data before attempting to flash the update.
Xiaomi has said that it will release the new firmware update for the following devices soon, in a progressive manner:
Mi 2/2S, Mi 3, Mi 4, Mi 4i, Mi 5, Mi Note, Redmi 1S, Redmi 2 Prime, Redmi Note 2, Redmi Note 3
Angry users whose devices mentioned above did not get the update today, have already taken to the MIUI forums to criticize Xiaomi about failing to fulfil its promise.
So it appears that the rest of the Xiaomi and Redmi phones will only get the stable update by August 16th.
