A few weeks ago, online retailer Flipkart had announced that the last batch of the Moto G was on sale and the price of the phone was also slashed by Rs. 2,000, which led to speculation that the Moto G2 could be heading to India soon.
This was confirmed when a reported tweeted out an image of a press invite from Motorola, for an event scheduled for September 5, in New Delhi.
And it appears that the company is ready to launch the phone, as it has shipped in several thousand units into the Country, as seen at the website of the Indian Import/Export tracker, Zauba.
The model number of the Moto G2 has been confirmed as XT 1068. We reported about this from an earlier leak, where the specifications and an image of the phone were also leaked.
Technical Specifications of the Moto G2:
Display | 1280 x 720 pixels (320 DPI) |
Processor | Quad Core ARM V7 VFPv4 NEON. (Could be the Snapdragon 400) |
GPU | Adreno 305 |

Zauba lists the price of the Moto G2 as Rs. 10,640. This is not the actual price, as it does not include taxes. So we can expect the final price to be around Rs. 12,000 – 13,000. The phone will be available exclusively via Flipkart.
