Motorola has officially unveiled the Moto G54 5G. The device is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7020 processor.
The device is equipped with a 6.5-inches Full HD+ IPS LCD. The screen supports a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels, 120Hz Refresh Rate, and has a 20:9 Aspect Ratio.
The phone runs on Android 13 out of the box, and Motorola has promised to upgrade it to Android 14 and support it with 3 years of security updates. Given that Android 14 is just a month away from release, this seems like a poor choice.
The device has an IMG BXM-8-256 GPU, with 8GB/ 12 GB of RAM, and 128 GB / 256 GB of storage. Motorola has packed a 6000 mAh battery in the phone, and it supports 33W Turbopower fast charging via a USB Type-C port.
The selfie lens on the phone is a 16 megapixels snapper with an f/2.45 aperture, and supports FullHD 1080p video recording at 30 frames per second. The main camera array on the Moto G54 has a 50 megapixels snapper with an f/1.88 aperture that supports optical image stabilization (OIS), an 8MP ultra-wide angle lens with an f/2.22 aperture, 118° FoV, Macro Vision / Depth Sensing, and an LED Flash. The device cannot record FullHD 1080p at 60 fps, and is limited to capturing videos at 30 fps.
The smartphone has a side-mounted fingerprint reader, and supports face unlock via the front camera. The Moto G54 has a 3.5 mm Headphone Jack, Dual Stereo Speakers, Dual Microphones, and supports Dolby Atmos, Moto Spatial Sound. The phone supports 14 5G bands: n1/2/3/5/7/8/20/28/38/40/41/66/77/77 HPUE/78/78 HPUE. It also supports 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 dual-band, Bluetooth 5.3, GPS and NFC. It is worth mentioning that the Moto G54 5G has a hybrid SIM card tray, i.e. the phone does not have a dedicated microSD card slot. The Moto G54 weighs 192g and measures 161.56 x 73.82 x 8.89 mm. The smartphone has an IP 52 rating for Splash and Dust Resistance.
