Motorola India has begun teasing the launch of the Moto X Play in India.
The company posted the above image on its Twitter account.
That matches the Moto X Play’s diamond patterned back, and the camera module as well.
Motorola is touting that the Moto X Play will offer up to 30 hours of battery backup. This may be possible, as the phone is backed by a 3,630 mAh battery. The device sports a 5.5 inch Full HD display with a pixel density of 401 PPI, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 3. The phone runs on Android Lollipop 5.1.1 Lollipop.
A 1.7 GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 processor powers the Moto X Play, along with 2GB RAM and an Adreno 405 GPU. The phone comes in two storage variants: 16/32 GB and supports up to 128 GB of expandable storage via microsd card. The device features a 21 Megapixel rear camera with dual LED flash, an f/2.0 aperture and a 5 Megapixel front camera. The X Play has a front facing speaker.
The phone is water resistant IP52 certified, thanks to an Advanced nano-coating technology. Connectivity wise, the phone supports Wi-Fi, GSM/3G/4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0 LE, GPS.
The Moto X Play is a mid range phone, which retails for around 400 Canadian Dollars, so the phone could be priced at its equivalent value, which is about Rs. 20,000. There is no launch date for the Moto X Play India launch just yet, but Motorola India says that it’s just around the corner.
If Motorola sticks to its usual retailing plans, the Moto X Play should be sold exclusively through Flipkart.
