Back in June, Motorola launched Moto Z & Moto Z Force with modular accessories, but skipped the rumored Moto Z Play launch. The company choose to keep mum about the Play edition, yet rumors / leaks kept coming about the alleged device. Just sometime back, these leaks and rumors got more credential after Moto Z Play XT1635 passed TENAA revealing its hardware specifications.
Motorola has scheduled an event on September 6 in China and is expected to announced the Play edition of Moto Z. Even though the company is yet to announce that, the listing on TENAA indicates an imminent public launch.
Today another leak on Weibo (Source Deleted) reveals the technical specifications of Moto Z play. The leak appears in the form of an image with comparison between Moto Z Play and Moto Z specifications. Looking at the images, we can clearly see that the hardware specifications of Play edition matches with that of TENAA listing.
As per this leak, Z Play sports a 5.5 inch Full HD 1080p display powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 along with 3 GB of RAM. It comes with 64 GB internal storage along with support for expandable storage via microsd card up to 2 TB.
In terms of camera, it comes with 16 MP main rear camera with PDAF support. If you remember, Moto Z comes with 13 MP main rear camera only. It comes with same 5 MP front shooter for selfies as the existing one.
It is 6.99 mm thick and comes with 4G VOLTE support. It is backed by a 3510 mAh battery instead of just 2600 mAh battery.
