When it comes to Artificial Intelligence based smart AI assistant Speakers, Amazon Echo and Google home / Mini comes to mind that are dominating the category at the moment. Any other brand or company is yet to make any significant impact in this category. It appears that Motorola is working on a smart speaker similar to Google Mini or Amazon Echo. If you remember, Motorola has released a Moto Mod as Moto Smart Speaker powered by Amazon Alexa as a smart AI assistant.
AndroidPure has accessed details about Motorola smart AI assistant speakers initially targeted towards China in association with Baidu that can perform similar functions as that of Amazon Alexa. AndroidPure has accessed the renders of the unnamed AI Assistant speakers along with other promotional materials and specifications. At the moment, Motorola is yet to announce any details about it or when it will be launched.
As can be seen from these images and promotional materials, the Moto AI assistant speaker can perform functions such as voice commands along with interaction with the end-user based on these voice commands. Some of the voice commands that works are e.g “What’s Today news” or “Help me set a reminder or start a countdown for 5 minutes”. It can also answer questions asked by users such as ” Which festival is today”. It can offer News updates, weather updates and stock quotes. It also appears to learn from user interaction and improves with the usage. User can also listen to his / her favorite song or hear entertainment news etc.
The Moto AI Assistant speaker comes with a Kids or Children mode and can switch automatically to that mode if it detects that children are interacting. It can offer content for children with stories and music. It includes integration with components from companies like Haier, Broadlinks, Lifesmart and many more, just as AMazon Skills. You can use an app to manage these skills and configure the speaker.
In terms of hardware, it is powered by an ARM 53 Cortex CPU with Bluetooth, WiFi support. It is 90mm in diameter and weighs 280 grams. It comes with a charger of 12V/1A.
