Android 4.4 has slowly started to roll out for various devices. After Nexus 4 & Nexus 7, Android 4.4 Kitkat is being rolled out in phases by Motorola for Moto X on Verizon Wireless. This Android 4.4 KitKat update brings bunch of improvements including an improved phone dialer, more gallery goodies, new Hangouts app, Color Emoji in Google Keyboard and updated camera app.
If you own a Moto X on Verizon wireless, you can check if the OTA update arrived on your device or not by checking the Settings >> about page on the device.
Installing OTA update ( if it already arrived)
- update will download automatically. select “Install now” when the download is complete.
- Update will be installed and phone will re-start automatically.
- After the restart, your phone is now updated with 140.45.5.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US.
Manually update your phone:
- Select the Settings icon in the apps menu
- Select “About phone”.
- Select “System updates”.
- update will download automatically. select “Install now” when the download is complete.
- Update will be installed and phone will re-start automatically.
- After the restart, your phone is now updated with 140.45.5.ghost_verizon.Verizon.en.US.
If you are on other carriers or countries, you need to wait though Motorola promises to announce the updates for them very soon.
