The Android Operating System could get a much desired feature, if a commit in the Android code is true.
The commit dated January 27 2015, mentions the word “multiwindows”.
Multiwindow is a feature found in the TouchWiz firmware of the Samsung Galaxy Note series. Multiwindow, as the name suggests, allows a user to have two open apps at the same time on the screen.
While the commit doesn’t necessarily mean that future versions of Android could definitely have Multiwindows, it is a clear indication that Google is experimenting on the feature.
Of course, even if it was officially announced, it would only be available in devices with a large screen, maybe 5″ or above. Else, the contents of the screen would be too small.
