The mystery is finally over. The next version of Android is officially Android 5.0 Lollipop. Google has just announced Nexus 6 and Nexus 9 quietly in a blog post powered by Android 5.0 Lollipop.
Android 5.0 Lollipop was previewed during this year Google I/O event and comes with over 5,000 new APIs for developers making it one of the biggest release by Google. It comes with Material Design which gives a consistent design across devices. It comes with loads of other features, better control and more about which we can talk about in some separate post.
Google also announced its next flagship i.e Nexus6 which is manufactured by Motorola. Nexus 6 comes with an aluminum frame, a 6-inch Quad HD display and a 13 megapixel camera along with dual front-facing stereo speakers. It also comes with a Turbo Charger, so you can get up to six hours of use with only 15 minutes of charge, just like the Oppo Vooc charging.
Google also announced a new tablet Nexus 9 manufactured by HTC. It comes with brushed metal sides and 8.9-inch screen. You can find the full specifications of the Nexus 9 here.
Android 5.0 Lollipop will also be available on Nexus 4, 5, 7, 10 and Google Play edition devices in the coming weeks. We will update you as and when it is available for the existing devices.
