Google seems to have pulled the plug on its 7-inch tablet, the Nexus 7 2013.
The Store listing for the device now reads “The Nexus 7 is no longer available for purchase.
The Google Nexus 7 2013 as announced two years ago in July 2013, with Android 4.3 JellyBean. In its two year of existence the device received several OS updates, and was recently updated to the latest iteration of the Android from Google: Android 5.1.0 Lollipop.
We expect that Google will continue updating it at least for another year, because, Google has been updating the tablet’s predecessor, the Nexus 7 2012, even though it was discontinued a year ago. Both devices continue to have strong user community and developer support at the XDA forums.
With this move, the only tablet now available in the Nexus series, is the high-end Google Nexus 9.
