Oneplus has been teasing the features of upcoming Oneplus 2 smartphone in last few days. In series of these teasers, the company has announced today that Oneplus 2 comes with a whopping 4 GB of LPDDR4 RAM. The other confirmed features of Oneplus 2 teased by the company include fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC.
ASUS Zenfone 2 is the other smartphone that comes with 4 GB of RAM, but that is LPDDR3 and not the LPDDR4 . So why Oneplus choose LPDDR4 ? Here is what they say:
Another notable benefit is lower power consumption for better battery efficiency.
With LPDDR4, you get twice the bandwidth performance as the LPDDR3 at the same power consumption profile. And with speeds up to 32 GB/s, it is also twice as fast as the LPDDR3.
It offers optimal support for power-saving low frequency mode that brings clock speeds down when performing those everyday and necessary tasks.
We already know that Oneplus 2 will be priced less than $450 and hence it will be interesting to see if Oneplus 2 meets the hyped expectations from its users and blogging community. The launch is scheduled for July 27. Stay tuned and we will keep updating you.
