Yesterday, we reported about the possible technical specifications of the OnePlus 3. And now, it appears the launch date of the Chinese OEM’s flagship phone, has also been leaked.
According to Danielito, a OnePlus Live Chat agent, the OnePlus 3 will be launched on June 14th in a VR Launch.
Krispitech says that this chat was reported through the OnePlus forums, and we dug through the portal, and didn’t find any thread which mentioned it, though we did find mentions of Danielito, which suggest that the person is a legit employee. So the rumoured date is likely the real deal.
Here is a brief recap of the OnePlus 3’s Technical Specifications:
- Display: 5.5-inch Full HD 1080p
- Operating System: OxygenOS 3 based on Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow
- Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 820
- Storage: 64GB
- Camera: 16 megapixels rear camera
- Connectivity: NFC
It appears that OnePlus is sticking to a virtual reality launch for the OnePlus 3. Given the disastrous launch last year, you would have thought that the company would have learnt better, but it appears otherwise. Perhaps they wish to cut down on the costs of hosting a live launch event in different Countries, and instead do it online. Regardless of that, it appears that viewers will be able to watch the launch event with or without a VR headset.
