This is probably the first time, that the details of a phone, and that too a flagship, has been leaked multiple times ahead of the official unveiling on launch day. And this time, it was Amazon India which spilled the beans on the price and technical specifications of the OnePlus 3.
The online retailer has sent out emails that the flagship will be available for purchase tomorrow.
At first glance it seems that Amazon India has jumped the gun, but I think otherwise. The email is titled “OnePlus 3 available from 15th June, 12:30 AM”. Logic suggests this email was a deliberate marketing attempt, to push the numbers for a sale which is scheduled to start in about 4 hours from now.
What is odd is that Amazon India’s email mentions that the OnePlus 3 will come with Oxygen OS based on Android Marshmallow 6.1. Google hasn’t even launched Android 6.1, which makes us wonder if the OnePlus 3 will be the first phone to feature it, even before a Nexus device gets it.
