OnePlus has announced that it is merging the codebase of its custom Android skin, OxygenOS, with the operating system of its sister brand, Oppo ColorOS. Don’t worry, the OS experience isn’t changing, only the development process is.
According to the official announcement made on its community forums, OnePlus says that the brands are combining R&D forces to ensure a better development of both operating systems.
OnePlus devices around the world will run on OxygenOS, while Oppo devices will run on ColorOS. The only exception will be OnePlus devices that are sold in China, these are already on ColorOS.
