OnePlus has released the Weather app from its upcoming ROM, HydrogenOS.
In case you didn’t know, HydrogenOS is the Chinese variant of the OxygenOS ROM.
The app is called OnePlus Weather is now available for download at the company’s website.
However it is worth noting that the app only recognises cities in China, and hence will not be of use in the rest of the World. We tested it on one of our devices, and it didn’t recognize the location (GPS), and you cannot add cities that aren’t in China. I tested this by entering Beijing, and it works just fine. Disappointingly, there is no weather widget available.
Here are a few screenshots.
If you really want to try it, you can download OnePlus Weather from the official page. You can scan the QR code, or just download it from a PC.The app is a 3.2 MB download, and should work on all devices running Android 4.3 or above.
So, I think it is safe to assume that the OnePlus Weather app in Oxygen OS will be identical.
OnePlus has drawn flak from its users for failing to meet the update deadline which they previously announced. This time the company has promised better communication with the users, but hasn’t mentioned when the update will actually be released.
