OnePlus has released the OxygenOS 11.0.5.1 update for OnePlus 7, 7Pro, 7T and 7T Pro. Let us find out what the new software brings to the 2019 flagship phones.
What’s new in the OxygenOS 11.0.5.1 update for OnePlus 7 series
All four devices have been updated to the December Security Patch from Google’s latest Android Security Bulletin. The software update improves the stability of the operating system. It also fixes a problem with WhatsApp, the instant messaging app could not send or receive media files.

According to the official announcements, the OxygenOS 11.0.5.1 update is rolling out to OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro users in Europe, and the Rest of the World, but is not available in India. The firmware for the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro, however, are available in India, Europe, and for global variants. A screenshot from the OnePlus community forums indicates that the OTA update weighs about 84MB to download.
The current build is based on Android 11, OnePlus has confirmed that it will release the Android 12 Update for OnePlus 7 in the first half of 2022. This is perhaps for the better, since the recent OxygenOS 12 Update for OnePlus 9 proved to be a buggy mess, which the Chinese OEM had to pull. The company re-released the update after fixing the numerous bugs that were reported by frustrated users.
