OnePlus has released the OxygenOS 11.2.6.6 update for OnePlus 9R. Let’s find out what the firmware brings to the smartphone that is exclusive to India.
The update is based on Android 11, as the company is yet to roll out Android 12 for any of its devices.

The change log for the update mentions that the operating system is now more stable. It also says that some know issues have been fixed, but does not go into detail about the problems that were fixed.
The only notable change in the update’s release notes, is that it brings the November Android Security Patch, with fixes from Google’s monthly security bulletin. Prior to this release, the OnePlus 9R was on the September Security Patch with OxyegenOS 11.2.5.5.
The OxygenOS 11.2.6.6 update for OnePlus 9R weighs about 372MB to download, as per screenshots shared by users on the OnePlus Community Forums. If you have not received it yet, head over to the Settings > System > System Update, to check for the update manually.
Early reports from users indicate that the update may have bugs related to the Wi-Fi. Several users have also voiced their concerns about lack of fixes for the camera app. There also appears to be some minor inconsistencies with the UI, for example, misaligned icons in the Settings app.
Meanwhile, OnePlus is already working on the successor to this years flagship, the OnePlus 10 Pro is expected to be released in early 2022. The phone will be powered by the new Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor that was announced by Qualcomm yesterday.
