OnePlus has been creating a lot of hype about its upcoming flagship, the OnePlus 2.
The company has been announcing bits of information about the phone’s technical specifications every week.
The phone will come with a fingerprint scanner which unlocks the device faster than Apple’s TouchID. The phone will come with a USB Type-C port, which will use a unified cable to charge the device and transfer data. More importantly, the OnePlus 2 will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 v2.1 SoC, which will run cooler than older SD 810 processors.
Today, OnePlus has announced something very important, a hint about the phone’s price. According to the CEO of OnePlus, Pete Lau, the company has been hearing rumours about the OnePlus 2’s estimated price being upwards of $500.
This is what Lau says:
“Honestly, it’s never been about the price. We simply make the best smartphones we can, and we go from there.”
Lau has promised that the OnePlus 2 will be priced under $450. And since phones are usually priced in an odd fashion, the OnePlus 2 should cost $449.
The OnePlus 2 is launching on July 27, in Virtual Reality.
