Ever since Google announced shutting down their popular RSS aggregator ,Google Reader, there has been an uproar amongst Reader users.
They have taken to Google+, Twitter, and other popular websites to display their rmotion and to try and prevent Google from shutting Reader down.
A petition on Change.org has gathered a large userbase support to prevent the shutdown. The petition which was created by New Yorker, Dan Lewis has gathered over 130,000 signatures at the time of writing this post and is slowly edging towards the 150,000 mark.
According to U.K Newspaper, The Telegraph the petition has crossed 400,000 page views since last Wednesday.
And this is not the only petition which supports Google Reader, there are plenty more on Change.org. You can sign Dan’s petition at this link.
Whether Google will consider these petitions are unknown, but it certainly disproves their statement that “Interest in Reader is declining”. Reader will be retired on the 1st of July, 8 years after its launch in 2005.
