A few Pixel 3 XL live photos have been leaked ahead of launch. And they confirm the previously reported design of the notch display.
Yes the weird robot face notch does look hideous, and it is really huge. We can see the Pixel launcher, the homescreen icons, and the status bar which seems to waste a ton of space on either side of the notch.
According to the Tweet, which “leaked” these Pixel 3 XL live photos, these are review devices. Yes, apparently Google wants people to post reviews of the device, probably the moment the phones are announced.
But someone thought it was cool to break that embargo, and we are not complaining. At least not about the pictures, the notch will be grumbled about. Speaking of which, here is a nice close up picture. Can’t unsee that, can you?
The Pixel 3 XL live photos do confirm the single rear camera, which Google has opted for. This is 2018, right?
Well, these Pixel 3 XL camera samples do suggest that despite having a single lens, the phone does take incredible shots.
There are plenty more sample pics, which you can see on rozetked.me. So, with Android Pie having been announced already, it won’t be long until Google releases the Pixel 3 and the XL. Apple’s new devices will be launching soon, and Google will want to cash in on its own new line-up. These Pixel 3 XL live photos suggest that the launch could be much closer, and not follow the usual October release pattern.
