Two days after outing the press photo of the Pixel phone, Evan Blass is at it again, this time with a press render of the bigger phone, the Pixel XL.
It doesn’t look all that different, does it? Similar background, same pixel launcher, round icons, filled in navbar buttons, and the Cortana-like home button.
Here are the Pixel and Pixel XL side by side for comparison.
The design looks exactly similar, and the only difference is the oh so obviously larger size of the Pixel XL, and that’s due to the larger screen size.
The front bezel does look hideous, but that space could have been put to better use, say a front facing speaker, or a fingerprint scanner. We will have to wait and see what’s so special in it to justify the rumoured $649 price tag.
Google is expected to launch the Pixel and Pixel XL on October 4th, alongside a possible demo of the merged Android-Chrome OS version, Andromeda.
