The Poco F1 India launch has been set for August 22nd. In case you are wondering, this is the Pocophone, which we have been reporting about the past week or so.
The news comes from Poco India’s official Twitter handle. Poco is Xiaomi’s new sub-brand, and will be focusing on providing a flagship experience without breaking the bank. The phone has a tagline “Master of Speed”, which is a bit je ne sais quoi.
Thankfully, we know a bit of the Poco F1 technical specifications already, so here is a recap. The Poco F1 sports a display with a notch design, following the trend which has been common among the majority of phones this year, including the Mi 8 devices.
As you can see from this photo of the device, the Poco F1 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 845 chipset, and runs MIUI 10. This isn’t surprising since the Redmi sub0brand runs the same OS as the Mi lineup of devices. The Poco F1 boasts dual rear cameras (12MP + 5MP), and a 20MP selfie camera. The phone supports Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 to charge its massive 4,000 mAh battery.
Poco F1 India launch date and expected price:
We are speculating that the Poco F1 will compete with the likes of the OnePlus 6 and the Zenfone 5Z, which are priced between Rs. 29,999 and Rs. 34,999. So, the Poco F1 will be priced similarly. This prediction is based solely on the note shared by Jai Mani, Poco’s new chief in India, who hinted about how flagships are becoming too pricey, and how Poco aims to change this trend.
We only have to wait until August 22nd (Wednesday of next week), for the Poco F1 India launch to see what impact the brand will have. Keep an eye on our blog, and we will update you when we find more leaks about the device.
