Xiaomi has announced the Poco F1 Open Sale date. But before you get your hopes up, let us tell you it is only for the 128GB storage variant with 6GB of RAM.
Let’s take a recap of the different variants of the device.
The Poco F1 is available in 3 variants in India
- 6GB RAM and 64GB storage which costs Rs. 20,999
- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage which retails for Rs 23,999
- 8GB RAM and 256GB storage which is priced at Rs 28,999
In a video released by Xiaomi India, Manmohan (Poco India’s GM) and Manu Jain (Xiaomi’s Global VP) speak about the Poco F1. Manmohan tells Jain that the 128GB variant is the best value for money. He also goes on to mention that fans are extremely concerned about not being able to buy the phone, because of the flash sale model.
To address this, Xiaomi has announced the Poco F1 Open Sale date to help fans buy the device. Is that what the company is saying?
Well, let’s call a spade a spade. The 128GB variant is pricier than the 64GB variant, and that is exactly why the former is not selling as much as the latter. That’s the reason why the company has a bigger inventory of the higher storage variant of the device.
However, Xiaomi is promising that the other variants will go on open sale soon. So, that’s something to look forward to.
It may sound like we are criticizing the company, but we are actually very pleased with the Poco F1, especially the price. This is what flagship phones should sell for.
Do keep in mind that the Poco F1 does not support Widevine L1 DRM, (which is a must for fans of Netfix and other video streaming services), we still think it is the best flagship phone at an unbeatable price.
If you want to buy the phone, you can get it from midnight today. That’s when the Poco F1 Open Sale starts on Flipkart and Mi.com.
