Poco has begun teasing the launch of its next phone in India. And the device is part of the F series. Before you get excited, it is not the Poco F3 or F3 Pro, instead it is the Poco F3 GT.
The brand took to its social media channels to promote a teaser video that hints about the upcoming handset. The video shows a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 chipset, which confirms that is the processor that will power the phone. Of course, that makes the Poco F3 GT a 5G phone. This in turn means the device would be the brand’s first 5G phone in India.
Rumour has it that the Poco F3 GT could be a rebranded version of the Redmi K40 Gaming Edition that was announced in China.
The Poco F3 GT brand name is revealed a little further along in the teaser video. It mentions that the phone would be launching in Q3 in India. So, we are possibly looking at an early July launch or perhaps an announcement in June, followed by the launch sale a month later.
It’s interesting to see the use of the GT in the name, since the Redmi/Poco’s bitter rival Realme also has a similar device, the Realme GT, though the phone isn’t sold in India with that moniker. The Realme GT is scheduled to debut in 3 days as the Realme X7 Max 5G.
