More and more Smartphone OEM companis are entering the Indian smartphone market with their devices. The latest OEM that has officially announced its entry into India is QiKU. QiKU is set to launch its first smartphone in India by end of November 2015. They sold 35,000 units of QiKU Terra smartphone in 5 seconds of its first flash sale in China which is priced at approximately $314.
QiKU plans to launch in India under the brand name QiKU and there will be two versions of the device i.e. QIKU Terra 808 & QIKU Terra 810. As the name suggests, the first one will be powered by Snapdragon 808 and the second one by Snapdragon 810.
IN terms of hardware specification, Terra 810 sports a 6-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) display or 2K display along with 4 GB of RAM and 64 GB of internal storage. It comes with two 13-megapixel cameras (Sony’s IMX278 sensor, f/1.8 aperture) located on the back of this phone and a 8-megapixel camera in the front. It also comes with a fingerprint scanner on the back along with a 3,700 mAh battery.
Whereas Terra 808 is powered by snapdragon 808 with 3GB RAM instead of 4GB and internal storage of just 16 GB instead of 64 GB. It comes with the same camera as Terra 810.
Both the devices will be powered by 360 OS operating system, a variation of Android 5.1 Lollipop.
For those who don’t know, QiKU is a joint venture between Qihoo 360 and Coolpad which announced its entry into the global smartphone market on August 26, 2015.
