Qualcomm has managed to offer some good mid range Processors or SOC chips powering the mid range smartphones. Snapdragon 653 is the most recent mid range SOC chip from Qualcomm powering the smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy C9 Pro and Oppo R9s. We have been hearing rumors on the next mid range processor i.e. Snapdragon 660 for some time and today we got more details about the same thanks to a leak which shows the Antutu Benchmark score of the upcoming processor from Qualcomm.
The leak comes in the form of two images, which show that Snapdragon 660 produces an Antutu Benchmark score of 105576 on a test device. The Antutu Benchmark score of 105576 for Snapdragon 660 provided if true, is quite high for a mid range smartphone and it compares with performance of high-end processor Snapdragon 820 though it is still behind it as Snapdragon 820 manages to get Antutu Scores in the range of 130,000+. If the score is any indication, we may be getting a better performance with mid range smartphones in future with just a mid range processor such as Snapdragon 660.
As per rumors, Snapdragon 660 MSM8976Plus uses Kryo cores similar to the Snapdragon 835 or quad ARM Cortex A73 CPUs clocked at 2.2GHz and quad ARM Cortex A53 CPUs clocked at 1.9GHz . It comes with Adreno 512 GPU, use Samsung’s 14nm process and supports UFS 2.1 storage with 2 x LPDDR4 RAM at 1866 MHz.
But as with any other leak, take this with a pinch of salt. Stay tuned at Androidpure and we will keep you updated.
