Qualcomm is expected to showcase its upcoming processor Snapdragon 835 during the CES 2017 in just few days. This upcoming processor from Qualcomm i.e. Snapdragon 835 is expected to power some of the next flagship smartphones such as Samsung Galaxy S8 and Xiaomi Mi 6. Qualcomm though has already given some sneak peek on this processor such as, this new 10nm chip will offer up to 27 percent better performance than their existing top end processor, while taking up less space and using less power. A new leak today in the form of presentation slides gives us much finer details of Snapdragon 835.
As per these leaked slides, Snapdragon 835 comes with Kryo 280 CPU cores along with Adreno 540 graphics which offers up to 25 percent fast rendering and support for 60 times as many colors. In terms of power consumption, it uses about half the power of Snapdragon 801 processor and is more energy efficient than Snapdragon 810 or 820. The chip brings some new features such as :
- gigabit-class LTE modem Snapdragon x16 LTE,
- support for biometric security, cameras with smooth zoom, fast auto-focus
- Thinner phones, larger battery
- Lower power, better battery life
In terms of video playback, the new chip supports 10-bit, 4K, 60 frames per second video playback, and OpenGL ES, Vulkan, and DirectX 12 graphics as well as HEVC video.
