Xiaomi has begun teasing an announcement scheduled for July 7th (Tuesday).

If you look closely at the image, the visible part of the first digit looks like 5, while the other three resemble 9. From this we can assume that the Redmi 2’s price will drop from Rs. 6,999 to Rs. 5,999.
Mi India says that the announcement will go live at 10 AM on July 7, at Mi.com/in. It is likely that the price cut may be an exclusive offer to promote the company’s own web portal in India.
